So the Purdue Grand Prix team I'm running has a really old kart that hasn't run in 2 years after a crash and I've only got $1000 to fund everything from parts, to entry fees, to up to spec harnesses and suits, to whatever else I need. I'm going to need to find sponsors. How do convince people to donate money/trade for advertisement? Any suggestions of potential sponsors? I have a bunch of tools and a workspace but no spare parts or anything else to get the kart running. Hey Jalopnik, want to sponsor a race team? You could have a livery design contest and could have articles written about the adventure!

Mooch off the FSAE team in exchange for a consistently available driver training platform?

Our FSAE team is already really poor! I'm on it and we struggle as is.

Still mooch off them, but use their car to get more sponsorship money because it's much easier?

Good to see a fellow KT100 racer on oppo. I ran my first competition year this year with it. What kind of racing are you doing with it?

I'd suggest hitting up companies known to recruit from your engineering programs, or that are owned by alumni. Otherwise, prepare a sponsor packet with some nice pictures, including previous results, potential sponsor benefits (exposure, etc), and so on, and send them to anyone you're interested in. If they're local make that packet into a presentation, put on some nice clothes & go kiss some ass.

Harrison Hall - Cavalry Racing. We've got time to make up then, we only got into the low 30s Saturday before a wheel stud broke. We'll be out today if the weather holds.

Yea the weather was not in our favor. We'd love to interview your driver or someone on the crew. Send us an email at SlipstreamPodcast@Gmail.com with some contact info. We're doing a show after every practice session.
